Both are being considered with the coaching position at the Premiership title holders following the former manager's resignation on the start of the week.

The Manager's Position on The Scottish Club

The Ipswich boss referred to Celtic as "an enormous football club" but stressed he is "deeply involved" of a "long-term project" with Ipswich Town.

The 39-year-old took charge of Portman Road in 2021 and led them to the Premier League with consecutive elevations, but they managed only a handful of victories last campaign as they were relegated back to the Championship and they presently occupy twelfth place in the Championship.

"There have been such discussions," the English capital native ex- Irish young player said when questioned about being on Celtic's shortlist.

"This isn't a matter I have given any thought to, or where any part of my concentration is this week.

"I possess a special position here at a special team. And we're at a really important stage of the season. Anything external hasn't reached my radar."

Background and Contractual Details

Reports indicate that the manager would be open to speaking to Celtic given his childhood support.

"During youth, we all have our affinities," he said when questioned about these. "It's unlikely all people has to go around and announce what they used to be, but of course it's a massive football club."

The coach agreed to a new four-year contract in last year and was asked about his reported £5m release clause.

"In every manager's contract, there are provisions," he responded. "I don't know what my specific terms are and, if I did, I wouldn't tell you regardless!

"I approach this role like I will remain Town's coach indefinitely. I know that's not always going to be the case, but I will consistently give maximum effort as while I remain in position."

The Welsh Coach's Situation

Bellamy represented the Hoops on loan from the Magpies in the mid-2000s, but the ex- Welsh forward is minded to complete the ongoing global tournament campaign, a stance that would effectively rule out the mid-forties from assuming the Glasgow position.

Wales are presently in third place in their World Cup group behind leaders the Red Devils and runners-up North Macedonia.

Victories over Liechtenstein and their rivals in November would book their position in the final qualifying round, but they are all but assured of reaching that stage, thanks to a successful Nations League campaign, should they not end up Group J runners-up.

Given his current position, the Wales manager, whose contract expires after the European Championship, would be unavailable until following the qualifying matches at the minimum.
