The 22-year-old tennis player Emma Raducanu concludes the current season and plans to retain her coach through next year.
Raducanu made it to the third stage in three out of four major tournaments in the current campaign.
Britain's Emma Raducanu will not compete in her final two events in 2025 due to a medical condition she has been fighting over the past 10 days.
Raducanu, aged 22 was due to play in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to recover prior to beginning her preparations for 2026.
Those preparations will involve coach Francisco Roig, as they will keep partnering in 2026.
The tennis professional underwent blood pressure monitoring in her opening round with Ann Li in Wuhan last week and withdrew when behind 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.
Another medical visit was necessary medical attention at the recent Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.
Raducanu was also moving noticeably restricted in the final set against Zhu because of back discomfort that has been a concern during parts of the season.
Those results meant an encouraging season, in which the player advanced into the international top 30 for the first time since her previous ranking, finished with a trio of defeats.
She held three match points then was defeated by Pegula in the third stage in last month's Beijing event.
Raducanu won 28 matches this year and made it to the semi-final round in the Washington tournament, but her standout performance was at March's Miami Open.
As Britain's top player made the last eight of a premier WTA event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way then falling in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.
She worked with Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig taking over in time for the US Open.
The original arrangement with the former trainer of Nadal was until the end of the season but the collaboration persists, with a training session scheduled late this year.
She mentioned that a three-day test period alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.
The player was close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati in August.
Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she made the third stage then falling to Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
